Janae had her first big kid birthday party at Gymboree. They got to climb, slide, bounce, play with bubbles, the parachute & roll a huge "rolling pin" over cookie dough (aka - the moms & dads).
Janae climbing up the "birthday candle" (previously the rolling pin). Once the kids got to the top they "blew out the candle" (an orange scarf that was tied to the top) & then Eric & I helped the kids bounce down the candle. I think this was Janae's favorite activity.
Janae blowing out her birthday candles. She surprised me by requesting pink icing on her cake since she's been all about orange for about a year now. Guess she's letting another color into her world! :-) She actually ate some of the icing on her cake (she normally avoids it like the plague!)
I only had to tell the kids once not to crowd Janae while she was opening up her presents. They were all very patient (which was good cause Janae is a very orderly present-opener. All wrapping paper had to be accounted for & handed to a grown-up for disposal. She had such a great birthday party & was so excited that she got her own party with presents, cake & balloons. She kept telling me that she is a big girl now! :-)
