Lana's troop learns the flag ceremony

As a part of earning one of their patches, Lana's troop had to learn the flag ceremony.  We asked an older troop of 4th graders to help our girls learn the rules and got permission from the principal to practice after school on the school flag pole.

The older girls reading through the steps of the flag ceremony with us. (See Lana with her purple flower in her hair).

Taking the flags down

Turns out the older troop had only practiced on a flag that didn't every get removed from a pole (just stuck into a flag stand) - thankfully I remembered how to do it all from my Camp Fire days.  :)  Including the proper way to fold a flag.

Lots of helping hands while folding the American Flag.

Color Guard retreat!

We let everyone practice folding the flags.
