Lana had a pretty fabulous birthday. The weekend before Lana's birthday she had a birthday party with Hugh & Elaine & Evalyn & Alayna in Junction City (we were in Omaha celebrating Eric's 30th birthday).
On Lana's birthday, Kevin went and got her & Janae a birthday donut for breakfast & I whipped her up some eggs to go with it. She went to her 2nd day of school and I brought her Wendy's for lunch and sat and ate lunch with her. She got to play a birthday game at school (I think it was "Heads up 7 Up") and the kids all sang Happy Birthday to her before eating her special birthday treat (I made chocolate chocolate chip muffins).
After school she got birthday calls from both of her Grandparents (at the same time actually) and opened her presents from Nonnie & Papa while on the phone with them. Here they are playing with their painted cloth parasols they got from Papa & Nonnie. They decided they were queens or ballerinas (or maybe both?) and were dancing around the living room.
For dinner we met The Schmankes at Fritz's Railroad Restaurant (where a toy train delivers the food to your table from above) and we had mini cupcakes after from a local bakery.
The group at Lana's birthday dinner.
At home we opened all the rest of her presents (from us).
Had to get a shot of the infamous "twinkle toes" shoes that The Schmankes got Lana. She was SO excited for them but we can't seem to find a size that fits... oh well. Like I said, Lana had one fabulous day & went to bed very happy. :)
Friday night we swung by Uncle Ryan's house for cupcakes & to get her present from him. She asked for & received a "pony set". It was a My Little Pony thing with slides, etc. All I know is that Kevin & I were able to sleep in Saturday morning while the kids played quietly with this set for over an hour.
Saturday after her birthday, Lana had a birthday party with her friends. First they opened presents.
Then we did cupcakes (Lana got a big one that she nibbled at & the rest of the kids got mini princess cupcakes). They were from a local bakery & had purple filling inside of them. (Lana's request)
We also had ice cream cups & got the kids good & sugared up so they could have lots of energy to burn off outside!
Lana's theme for the party was "Splash Bash" & we borrowed this water slide from our neighbors.
Kevin made me get 2 squirt guns for the grown-ups (that I didn't shoot once) and the kids all were given little ones. They loved to shoot each other & especially shoot the grown-ups!
We had some water balloons & did a tossing game with them at first & then had a 1 minute water balloon fight that unfortunately ended in tears. Oh well - the rest of the party went swimmingly, ending with some balloon animals made by Kevin for the kiddos.
