KC Renaissance Festival

We went to The Kansas City Renaissance Festival with Ryan & his girlfriend Heather this past weekend.  It was the last weekend of the festival and their special theme for the weekend was "Scarily Ever After".  They encouraged kids to dress up in their Halloween costumes as they were able to "Trick or Treat" at the various vendors, etc.
The girls got to make their own wands & then test them out.  Here is Janae making sure her wand works!

Lana showing off her wand & her new princess headpiece.

We were stopped by a woman who said she was Cinderella's Step-Mother & asked Janae if she wanted to be just like Cinderella.  Janae said she did & so the woman proceeded to pull a broom out of her costume and asked Janae to sweep up the leaves on the ground.  Janae did. :)

Then the woman took back the broom and gave Janae a list of chores to do at home: Milk the cows, Make dinner, etc.  All so she could be "just like Cinderella".  As we walked off, Janae told me that she didn't want to be Cinderella right now cause she was Belle, but she would be Cinderella for her birthday (something she told me for several days prior to the Ren Fest).

The girls rode on the man powered swings.  (Notice the men in the middle.)

The guys decided to throw some stars...

Heather bought some feed for the girls at the petting zoo & helped them feed the overly excited animals.

Here is Lana feeding a Llama.

Had to get a picture with a unicorn!

Both girls opted for butterflies on their faces. :)

Finally - a camel ride.  They wanted to ride the elephant but the line was at least 20 deep and the camel ride was completely empty.  Of course after we went on the ride, the line filled up - guess we looked like we had a lot of fun!

We had a lot of fun, ate some yummy food and even tried to get the girls hands permanently made in wax (but it was too hot for them).  Can't wait to go next year!
