We went to Kevin's Aunt & Uncle's lakehouse again this summer. Once again, we had a VERY good time. It was crazy hot so if we were outside, we were in the water or on the boat.
Here's how we prepped for sitting on the boat. Had to get wet so we weren't so hot in the sun. This was the first year where all the kids were super comfy in the water - it was nice to not have them clinging to you while you swam & be able to sit on the dock with your feet in the water watching them swim.
Then we went for a ride on their new "Big Mable". Janae & Evalyn had by far the bumpiest ride & possibly the most fun. "Thumbs up" means "go faster". Both girls kept giving us the "thumbs up" sign, even when they were bouncing around like crazy on the waves.
Lana, Trevor & Alayna rode together once. Lana preferred to go slow but on her second time around (with these 2) she let them go a little bit fast.
Tyler & I took a ride together. He is a crack-up & asked me to move to the middle so we didn't tip over & he kept asking how much I weighed (we saw another raft tip while we were waiting to go). He is very adventurous so it was very funny that he was so concerned all of a sudden.
We thought, "Why not put all the kids on the raft... They don't exceed the weight limit & there were plenty of hand holds for them..."
However that lasted all of 30 seconds once the raft started to get pulled, it started tipping & all the kids got tossed into the water. After that, you couldn't get the younger ones (who enjoyed the fastest, bumpiest rides before) onto the raft. But the older ones (including Lana, the timid kid) wanted "More! More!" We decided 4 was the max after that.
We also put together a puzzle, played scrabble, visited in the evening on the patio and ate some delicious meals. Thanks goes out to Millie & Skeeter for letting us stay at their home. It was such a wonderful family get-together!
