Happy 4th of July!

We started the day with a 4th of July Parade.  We marched with the Girl Scouts.  The girls spent some time at a meeting decorating their bike & scooter so they could ride them in the parade.

All ready for the parade!

We had to get our pictures taken with Miss Kansas!

Janae's troop before the parade.  (See Janae's scooter?)

Janae's troop after the parade.

Lana was one of 2 kids who road their bike - our neighbor, Maddie, was the other.  All the other kids rode scooters (Janae & neighbor, Haley) or walked.  You can see Lana in the middle of this picture with her purple bike & torquoise shirt.  :)

Here is Janae (dead center with sunglasses & her navy dress with a large 4th of July bow on her scooter) & me - white shirt on the left - marching in the parade.

Our "float" won a 1st place tropfy for "Decorated Bikes" & since my girls & I put so much into our bikes - the person in charge let us keep the trophy.

We had our neighbors & my sister's family over for the fourth of July.  Kevin smoked up a 13.5lb brisket for dinner that was demolished by 8 adults & 7 kids (ages 4-9).  Even the kids were going back for seconds on the meat.  yum!  One of the neighbors set up their inflatable water slide in our backyard & the kids had lots of fun in between eating & fireworks.

Popscicles are super cool!

Smoke bombs.

Aw - cousin love!

After fireworks were done - the kids rode bikes & scooters around the cul-de-sac.

Lana lighting a firework (this is my least favorite part).

Janae watching a fountain firework.
