During Red Ribbon Week at our school, kids are encouraged to bring in change to donate to United Way and each day they are told to wear something different in support of Red Ribbon Week.

| Day 1 - Mismatched Day. The funny thing was that it was hard to explain how to mismatch clothes to the girls. The shoes & socks were easy for them to mismatch. :) |
Day 2 was "Hat Day". Both girls wore their swap hats from school - didn't get a photo of that.

Day 3 - Crazy hair day. Lana requested a mohawk but threw a fit when I tried to have her lean to one side while I sprayed her hair so she go the same hair as Janae - they flipped their head upside down (outside) while I sprayed the heck out of their hair with super hold hairspray. Both had purple hairspray added for an accent. Janae got stopped by several people & even had a teacher (not hers) take her picture & text it to her daughter. This is always my personal favorite day for Red Ribbon Week. :)
Day 4 was school Spirit Wear day where they each wore a school t-shirt.
Day 5 was where you wore a shirt or jersey from your favorite sports team. Both girls wore KSU gear. :)
There was also a competition going on with the collection of the money for United Way. The grade with the most money donated got to pick out Mr. Lash's Halloween Costume (their principal) - in the past he's been a baby, a cheerleader & a girl. The first graders won this year (Janae's grade) & Mr. Lash will find out what he's going to be on Halloween right before the parade in the morning. They were asking for a superhero costume to be donated so we'll see if they were able to get one. ;) |
