On the last day of Red Ribbon Week, the first graders had a field trip scheduled for Weston Red Barn Farm. It was COLD & a forecast for rain for the afternoon. We were hoping to miss the rain but it hit us right before we were able to do the hayride. Thankfully we got to pick out pumpkins & get our tour in before it started raining too hard. It was the first time Janae's teacher said they've ever had to cancel a field trip early. It was sleeting as we were loading up pumpkins into a parent's truck & I had driven a carload of parents there & we cranked the heater on my van while enjoying warm apple cider that we purchased for the ride home. The kids missed out on their picnic, so the teacher had them turn their desks around & eat on the floor with the desks as a "tent" and she turned on a movie for them - I'm sure they all thought that was just as fun. :)

The second pumpkin Janae picked out - (the first was even smaller... but had a small hole).
The pumpkins we went home with - Janae's 3rd & my first. ;)
