Lana wears us down

After months & months of asking, begging & bargaining, Lana finally wore us down.  (EVERYONE in her class has their ears pierced (Lana said so, so it MUST be true)).  But seriously, most of her close friends have their ears pierced & her cousin, Alayna, got her ears pierced last month and so the asking has become even more frequent lately.  Today we decided to finally let her get her ears pierced.  When standing in line, Janae starting asking for hers to be pierced too but we told her she had to wait a bit.  (She did get to pick out a killer shade of nail polish though).
Here she is with the "dots" on her ears.  She was super excited & said she wasn't nervous (although she did ask the lady, "Will this hurt?" before-hand.  To which the lady replied, "It will be just a little pinch").

They gave her a teddy bear to hug (who had her ears pierced) and did both ears at the same time.  Afterward Lana said, "Ouch, that did hurt!"  But she didn't cry & a few seconds later she was smiling.

Here is Lana admiring her newly pierced ears.  She wanted the Hello Kitty earrings but the lady said they had nickel in them & recommended selecting a 14K gold pair just in case she was allergic.  Since my mom & sister are both sensitive to certain metals, we figured we wouldn't risk it for a pair she has to wear for 6 weeks straight.  Of course the Hello Kitty pair was $10 LESS than the pair she ended up picking.  Hmmm...
Here's a closeup of her earrings.  She picked the pink diamond daisies.

The new & improved Lana.  One less tooth, a shorter hairdo & pretty pierced ears.  She keeps asking to clean her ears - we'll see how long it stays a novelty & when I have to start reminding her to clean them.
